Weekend Update
Just a quick update. I got in a few hours of painting over the weekend.
I finished up the unit of 30 Daemonettes and a unit of 6 Seekers. I just need to base them and they are DONE!
25 Days left until BB6:
1 - Keeper
1 - Fiend - Grey base coated
10 - Furies - Primed
10 - Horrors - Grey base coated
I should also assemble a bunch of spare Daemonettes in case I roll a "12" on the Reign of Chaos table and for causing wounds with Lore of Slaanesh and Tzeentch. For each wound caused by a spell on a 5+/6+ summons Daemonettes/Fiends and 4+ summons Horrors. Very easy to start getting some reinforcements on the board. I won't have these painted but will bring them with me.
I will take some photos of the completed models once I get them based.
Adios!

Update from yesterday.
My start to my day of painting was delayed since my wife forgot our son's bottles and I had to drive into Daycare. That would normally be a 40 min delay, but for some reason there was a ton of traffic and it took almost an hour for the round trip.
I get home, sit down and one of my desk lamps doesn't want to turn on. I changed the bulb, but nothing. Then my camera doesn't want to hold a charge so I had to take these updates on my IPhone instead, and my light I usually have behind me doesn't want to turn on. It was as if the Gods did not want me to paint yesterday. Sorry, these are not the greatest pictures.
9AM to 12PM - First up, I painted the blue on 30 Daemonettes. I need to add the yellow on all the jewelry and eyes, then after basinf they will be finished. It took 90 minutes for the basecoat, and 90 minutes for the next 3 highlights. Six minutes per figure so not too shabby. I think I will need another 2 hours to finish the unit.
Then I needed to do something different so I assembled and converted up 10 Chaos Furies. They were converted out of Tyranid Gargoyles and random Spawn parts. These were a lot of fun to convert and I tried to make them as ludicrous and crazy looking as possible. I am going to paint the body grey and the wing membranes, claws, and other bits blue. The eyes and anything else that will make the model pop will be painted yellow. I have them at random heights so they fit when ranked together. I am going to put numbers on the bottom to make sure I do not forget.
I opened the Keeper of Secrets box :) You can tell it is old packaging due to the foam and the metal was slightly discolored. I hadn't seen that foam tray in awhile. I cleaned up the metal and remembered why I hate assembling large metal models. I love working with plastic and resin soooo much more. It stayed unassembled.
Over last weekend I assembled 30 Pink Horrors that I got randomly motivated to assemble since I had an idea to include a unit, so I sanded the bases and primed them. I also primed an old Albion Fenbeast to use as a fiend. I am going to paint him all blue and grey as well.
Score for BCW ClutterBusters Challenge : 40 assembled infantry = 10 Points!

Taking a day off!!!
Well, I am going to take a day off from work tomorrow just to get my hobby on. I told the wife that just because I am home doesn't mean I can run around and do errands. This is my day! I'll pick up the kids form daycare but I plan on getting in 8 straight hours of painting and assembling.
Here is my agenda to help me stay focused:
- Get my BCW and Bad Dice Podcasts loaded and ready.
- Keep myself away from the TV so I do not get tempted and watch the last 2 Walking Dead episodes.
- 30 Daemonettes that need the blue and yellow details painted. If I can get these done by lunch I will be happy.
- Assemble 6 more Daemonettes
- 6 Seekers that just need the yellow details done.
- Keep myself away from the TV so I do not get tempted and watch the last 2 Walking Dead episodes.
- 2 Fiends that need to be primed and painted. I am being cheap so I am painting up an old Albion Fenbeast and I will sort through my bitz box for something else that looks "fiendish" enough until new models are available.
- Assemble my Keeper of Secrets (if I get it primed & base coated I'll be very happy)
- Keep myself away from the TV so I do not get tempted and watch the last 2 Walking Dead episodes. (See a trend? I have been reading the comic book for a few years now, and a huge fan of the show.)
- Assemble 10 Furies. I am going to use Tyranid gargoyle's with Daemonette arms and random Bitz for their heads. I planned on using Daemonette heads, but they look too small. I assembled a couple over the weekend using old metal and plastic spawn heads to try things out before the little awoke from his nap. The spawn heads looked proportional to the gargoyles and should look pretty "Chaosy" when I get done.
- This will also get me some points for the Clutter Busters Challenge I signed up for.
I know I am cutting some corners, but I need to get stuff done before next month's Brawler Bash (which as of this post is up to 76 attendees...WOOT!!!) I usually paint pretty fast once I get going, it is just getting the time to get in the mood.
Check in later this week to see what I actually got done.
