Kings of War Battle - Varangur vs Brotherhood

Here are some pics of a Kings of War battle between The Varangur (aka Warriors of Chaos) vs The Brotherhood (aka Brettonia). It was 2000 point battle and the mission was Invade, where you only get points for your units that are completely across the center line.

I am not going into a lot of detail as the battle was a few days ago and my memory isn't what it used to be.

Setup

The Brotherhood move around the forest.

The Brotherhood advance on their left flank.

Varangur turn 1.  The wolves move up to block the Knights.

The Coven of Magi (aka old DoW Chaos Cannon) lines up and fizzles.

Mage moves into the forest for cover.

Peg knights charge the wolves.

Knights flank charge with mounted squires in the front.

Peg Knights waive the wolves then this turn charge the Warriors in the flank.  

Brotherhood takes down the Warriors easily.

These peasant Knights and wolves battle the whole game in a pillow fight.

Marauders move in to kill something.

I move the King on Chimera up to try and set up a rear charge later on.  Things are looking grim.

Pillow fight continues.

King takes out trebuchet and sights up a rear charge.

Brotherhood does a ton of wounds then rolls the dreaded double one.  Warriors stay to fight.

Chaos Knights charge the Knights.

Wolves sneak around and get a trebuchet. 

King moves over the center line along with Mage to seal victory.

So in conclusion it was a very close game.  The Brotherhood dominated the game until the double one on the nerve check.  That gave me enough to countercharge and then move over the center line.  His Knights in the final picture were stuck straddling it so no points.

Ogre Hunter

Here is my finished Hunter. Enjoy. 

Gorgers done and are hungry

I decided to RePaint my 2 Gorgers. I used a bunch of purple and red washes to help change the skin tone up compared to my regular Ogre flesh. 

I hope you all are enjoying the updates. I have been in a painting frenzy lately and hope to keep it going. These frenzies in the past usually only last a few weeks at most. 

There is a poster over at at The Ogre Stronghold who has inspired me to get a new Hunter up and running. Here's his WiP.

Mournfang and Sabretusks Finished

Here are 3 Mournfang/Dragon Ogres I finished. I put them on the 50x75 mm bases but when used as Mournfang I'll add a cavalry base to the back of each for a proper 50x100mm base. Only some minor conversions by adding Ironfists to 2 of them. 

Below are my new Sabretusks or as I like to call them, my Gnoblar Cavalry. I thought this was an original idea until I saw 2 armies at the UK masters having the same idea. Oh well :) 

Just noticed I forgot to paint the horns on one of the Gnoblars.

BSB, Bulls and Ironblaster

Bulls repainted. Banner is based on the TN flag but with a comet theme. 

Ironblaster done. Just repainted the ogre and straps. 

WIP of my BSB. I need to dull the colors a bit, paint some more details and add some doodads. 

Here he is lined up with his mates.

Ogre Marauder from Avatars of War

I fell in love with this model the first time I saw it, and arrived two days ago. I just finished it tonight.  Really well cast, hardly any mold lines and no pinning was required. Model is also bigger and bulkier than the GW Tyrant. 

He is going to my new Ogre Tyrant. I hope you enjoy.
