Battle in the Garage

Yesterday I got to play a 2500 point game against a friend of mine. My army is all packed up so I borrowed his gruesome Ogre Kingdoms army and went to battle against his Dark Elves in his garage. 

Here are the photos, I'll add some notes later when I get some time. It was a mighty massacre for the a Ogres.

I'm Going to Graceland....

I have kept this low key, but my wife's job is taking us to Memphis, TN for the next 1-3 years.  Actually, we are moving to Olive Branch, MS which is just SE of Memphis.  My hobby has been packed away for the last few weeks getting ready for the move at the end of this month, but I have some crazy ideas in my head.

I am going to start repainting my Ogre army to match my Mordheim Pit Fighter war band color scheme.  I am going to call the army OAF (Ogre Alliance for Food) or something silly like that.  Colors will be Red, White, and Blue with much lighter Caucasian flesh tones.  Bulls get Blue & White pants, IG get Red Striped & Blue pants, Heroes get red and white striped pants and blue with stars.  Flag will have 13 Great Maw teeth.  The Maneaters will probably be Minotaurs or heavily converted Ironguts and if I decide to use Mournfangs then I'll use the Dragon Ogres.

 I am going to take my time painting them and really try and up my game with my painting.  I have been watching a lot of YouTube videos on using glazes that I am excited to try.  Hopefully I'll have a nice update in a month once I get my stuff unpacked.

Southern Assault IV is next month July 12th & 13th and one of our sponsors sent us a box of goodies for terrain which is very much appreciated.

Off to Brawler Bash VII tomorrow

It is time for another Brawler Bash!  I am bringing my Slaanesh DoC to the fight again this year.  This time I did drop my initial mono list to add a Skull Cannon and a Beast of Nurgle.  I will try and get a write up for each of my battles, but I never remember to take any photos.

Speaking of photos here is my army, the Fury movement trays have since been finished to match the rest of the army.  I hope you all like.

I got the Fury movement trays from Hollow Tree Studios, cheap and I think they look great.

The name plate also came from Hollow Tree, he helped design it.

The whole gang again this time with the Keeper perched overlooking his minions.

Finally getting this done for Brawler Bash.  Still need to finish the crew, but the steeds and chassis are done.

More Mordheim!

This week I got a bunch of hired swords done.  I have really enjoyed painting individual models against.

First up is the Truthsayer from the Albion campaign a long time ago.  I can use him as a Nose Shaman or play him as the Truthsayer.  I used the same skin technique that I did on Thrud.

Next is a duelist, I used an old Tilean Duelist model, but gave him a pistol.  I wanted him to be flashy and bright.

Here is an imperial assassin using another Tilean duelist.  This time I painted him mostly in black.

I also painted up a beggar.  He is just a gnoblar with a Bretonian M@A head.  Wanted to have almost a poor jester feel to him.

Finally here is a Marksman.  The rules state he is technically a Tilean marksman, but I painted up as a Stirland Marksman.

What I've been up to - Mordheim Pit Fighters

I have been in a Mordheim mood again.  Here is my new Pit Fighter warband using the original list, not the list with the different styles.  Here are the Sons of Liberty about to bring about a New World Order.  I picture these guys more Amercan Gladiators and less dirty Conan type.

First is the leader known only as The General.  His upper torso is from the Chaos Manticore Sorceror Rider and his fist spike comes from the Marauder Standard.  All the bases are just cut up hotel keys, masonry sand, and GF9 winter static grass.

Here are his two Veterans Johna and Thomas.  I haven't finished Johna's shield.  They are made with Empire Knight, Chaos Knight, Lizardmen and Marauder parts.

The Troll Slayer Old Ben whose "wisdom" with his axe is very valuable.  The ladies also dig him.

.The initiate Quincy, yes I misspelled his name DOH!  His helmet's flag bears a certain resemblance to the NC state flag.  His helmet top is a Brettonian M@A helmet with the bottom part a Chaos Warrior.

The henchmen Pit Fighters, Mad Son and Jackson.  Empire knight helmets and Marauder flails.

You have to have an Ogre who is bigger than life named Handcock.  Get it :). Helmet is made of two Marauder shoulder pads and some Empire feathers.

Another henchman Pit Fighter Martin with Morning Star and Shield.  Empire Knight torso and helmet.

A henchman as well.  Monroe's shield isn't done yet.  Empire Knight helmet and sword arm.

The Pursuers: Tyler, Polky, Hairy, Millard and Zack.  Eventually they will have shields as well.  Helmets were made out Chaos Warrior and Brettonian helmets with Empire feathers.

And just because I have had this model for years here's everyone's favorite Barbarian Thrud.  He will be a Barbarian Hired Sword.  A size comparison is below.  I really like how his skin came out.

I have been building a bunch of buildings for Mordheim as well which I'll post soon.
